As the West pushes for war with China, all of this “our values” bullshit is collapsing and has become basically like satire.

The US is in the midst of massive raids and arrests of political activists, as it condemns China for arresting political activists.

Foreign ministers from the United States, Canada, Britain and Australia condemned last week’s arrest of over 50 democracy activists in Hong Kong in a joint statement on Sunday, calling on China to respect the freedom of the people on the island.

Hong Kong police made the arrests on Wednesday in dawn raids, the biggest crackdown since China imposed a security law in 2020, which opponents say is aimed at quashing dissent in the former British colony.

“It is clear that the National Security Law is being used to eliminate dissent and opposing political views,” the foreign ministers said in the joint statement issued by Australia’s Foreign Minister Marise Payne.

“We call on the Hong Kong and Chinese central authorities to respect the legally guaranteed rights and freedoms of the people of Hong Kong without fear of arrest and detention.”

Hong Kong’s most prominent pro-democracy advocates were arrested as authorities said last year’s unofficial vote to choose opposition candidates in city elections was part of a plan to “overthrow” the government.

I explained earlier this week that the events in Washington on Wednesday mirrored, almost to the letter, an in event in 2019 in Hong Kong where protesters rushed the main legislative chamber. The only real difference between the two events is that the Hong Kong protesters were ultra violent and vandalized the whole place, and the cops were not violent, and didn’t murder anyone like the US cops did.

Otherwise, the two events were more or less identical.

But then: there were no raids after the 2019 Hong Kong storming of the legislature, whereas we are seeing extreme raids now in America. There was also not a crackdown on freedom of speech, which we are seeing in America.

After the rioters rushed the legislative building in July of 2019, the Chinese government allowed them to riot on the streets for a year before passing anti-riot laws.

So, this has become just totally stupid and ridiculous. No serious person on earth can make a serious claim that the United States has more freedom than China. Anyone making that claim is lying, stupid or insane.

This entire narrative of “we’re against China because they don’t have enough freedom” is not “the pot calling the kettle black,” it is “the pot calling the porcelain teacup black.”

It is utterly beyond stupid, it is in the realm of completely deranged nonsense.

If the Chinese invaded America and took over the government, we would have at least 50 and maybe as much as 200 times more freedom than we have right now.

The fact that the US is condemning arrests of literal violent terrorists as it does raids on peaceful protesters is utterly bonkers.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.
